Elyxura: It Started With a Pattern
"There was a pattern I kept seeing in the clinic.
Almost every person who walked through my door with acne, or oily and sensitive skin, seemed
to have the same story. They had tried products. They had tried treatments. They had tried
strong actives, chasing quick results and yes, sometimes the acne would get better.
But then I'd see something else. Their skin would turn dry, tight, sensitive, sometimes more
reactive than before. And after a while, the same person would come back with another flare-up.
I started wondering: if we have so many skincare products and so many acne treatments today,
why do people keep coming back with the same problem?
Maybe the problem wasn't that we didn't have enough products. Maybe we were missing
something fundamental.
So I started looking beyond the breakout. I wanted to understand what was actually happening
to the skin itself: to the barrier, the microbiome, the inflammation, and how the ingredients we
were using were really interacting with all of it.
The more I learned, the more one question stayed with me:
Why should treating one skin concern create another?
That question became the starting point for Elyxura. But there was someone else who became
an important part of this story.
Niti Tiwari.
At the time, Niti wasn't my business partner. She was my patient.
She'd been dealing with acne and oily skin since her teenage years, had tried her share of
products and treatments, and understood this problem not because she'd read about it, but
because she'd lived it.
As we kept talking, about the problem, and about what a better approach might look like, I
realised something: I understood the science and the skin, but Niti understood something I didn't
how to take an idea people actually needed and get it to them. She'd spent years building
businesses in an industry where you don't put something in front of a customer and just hope it
works. You question it, test it, and build it properly, every time.
And somewhere along that journey, my patient became a friend, and then a business partner.
Together, we started asking a different question. Not just how do we clear skin but how do we
help people build healthier skin?
That's where Elyxura began: a belief that skincare shouldn't be about constantly fighting your
skin. It should be about understanding it, supporting it, protecting it, and helping it grow stronger
over time.
That's the philosophy behind Elyxura.
Where clinical meets botanical.
